According to the General Directorate of Aviation, more of 28 thousand passengers flew in Ecuador since the restart of commercial flights in june last.

In a bulletin published by the DGAC, it was revealed that 28.146 Passengers have been transported by air in Ecuador since commercial passenger operations resumed at Ecuador's airports in June.

as we well remember, Ecuador restarted its commercial operations from 1 June 2020, being the first country in Latin America to reactivate the airline industry after the measures imposed by the government (Mexico, Brazil and Chile never fully closed).

domestic flights

At the national level they were 21 air terminals that returned to commercial activity and mobilized 10.874 passengers (between regular and non-regular service) through airline operators:

  • Avianca Ecuador
  • Latam Ecuador
  • Aeroregional
  • Aeroconexos
  • Aerokashurco
  • Aeromorona
  • Aerosangay
  • Aerosarayacu
  • Samafe
  • Green Amazon
  • Airplanes
  • Conectaair
  • Endecots
  • Turns off
  • Mantair
  • Tame Amazon
  • West Pacific

In the meantime, domestic regular commercial passenger routes that have been reactivated are:

  • From Quito to Guayaquil, Cuenca, Coca, Santa Rosa, Store and Blanket.
  • Charter flights to San Cristóbal and Baltra in the Galapagos Islands.

International flights

Regarding the international operation abroad, they mobilized 17.272 users (between regular and non-regular service) and they were transported 10.499,25 TM (metric tons) load: flores, mail, dry and perishable goods.

  • Quito-Amsterdam-Quito;
  • Quito-Guayaquil-Madrid and vice versa;
  • Quito-Houston-Quito;
  • Quito-Fort Lauderdale-Quito
  • and Quito-Miami-Quito.

Dear Nicholas, the information that is presented would be more relevant if it is compared with that of the same period last year to see the variation that has been experienced in each route in the number of flights, seats offered, passengers transported and kilos of cargo transported. I would like to know especially the variation presented in the main domestic routes such as the UIO CUE UIO, GYE UIO GYE and UIO MEC UIO now that Tame EP is out of the market.
