United announced that it will resume daily nonstop flights between its hub at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas from 11 of August.

This flight reopens a key economic gateway, creates new business opportunities and makes it easier for families to reunite with their loved ones. The airline offered flights between USA and Venezuela for more than 20 years before suspending service in June 2017.

United joins those returning to Venezuela

United resumes daily service between George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Simón Bolívar International Airport starting on 11 August in a Boeing 737 MAX 8.

Currently, United offers up to 100 daily flights to more than 50 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean from Houston, and travelers can connect from Houston more than 180 destinations around the world. At the end of this year, United will inaugurate the most modern airport terminal in the country in Houston: a transformation of Terminal B 2,000 millions of dollars, that will have 22 new boarding gates for the main fleet and the United Club largest in the system.

United will operate a Boeing 737 MAX 8 on this route, and customers on board will enjoy individual screens at each seat with Bluetooth connectivity and the latest entertainment offering from leading streaming services such as Apple TV, HBO Max, Spotify y Peacock, space for everyone's hand luggage and, Coming soon, Starlink Wi-Fi.

"This flight will help strengthen cultural and economic ties across America and further reinforces United's Houston hub as a leading gateway to the region.".

This specific flight will be essential for the transfer of oil sector workers to the country, as the United States and Venezuela work together to expand production and generate new economic opportunities.".

Initial itinerary details

Flight schedules will be:

  • UA flight 1046: Ruta IAH – CCS. Start on 11 August with daily frequency. Departure at 23:45 and arrival at 05:30. Operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8.
  • UA flight 1045: Ruta CCS – IAH. Start on 12 August with daily frequency. Departure at 08:00 and arrival at 12:30. Operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8.
