In the face of global uncertainty and new restrictive measures by governments, LATAM Airlines reported that it plans to lower its flights during February.
LATAM Airlines Group reported its operational passenger estimate for February, that would reach a 35% (measured in available seat kilometers -ASK) compared to the same period of the previous year. The figure is lower compared to last January, in which the operation was a 39,8%, in a scenario dominated by the increase in government restrictions for air transport worldwide.
For this month, are estimated 680 daily national and international flights, connecting 115 destinations in 16 countries. At the same time, is expected to increase by 20% the use of the cargo fleet against 2020, considering more than 1.100 monthly flights.
During January 2021, the traffic (measured in rented passenger-kilometres – RPK) it was of 32,8% compared to the same period of the previous year. This considered a passenger operation of 39,8% (which is measured in available seat kilometers – ASK) compared to the same month last year, so the load factor decreased 14,9 percentage points to 70,3%.
