The Ecuadorian Air Force has a new Commander General, Mr. Brigadier General Dionicio Geovanny Espinel Puga already holds this position.
In official statement, the FAE announced to his new Commander General that from the 24 May 2021 will occupy this position after the change of command presidential in Ecuador.

During his military career he has been in command of different headquarters and directions; the last position held prior to his appointment as Commander General of the Ecuadorian Air Force was as commander of the Air Operations and Defense Command, in Guayaquil, Under his management, this military unit carried out interdiction air operations involving four aircraft linked to drug trafficking..
He has also held other important positions, to name a few: He was Commander of the Combat Wing No.. 23 in blanket; Commander of the FAE Education and Doctrine Command, Defense Attaché at the Embassy of Ecuador in Spain, Director of Strategic Planning, Inspector General of the Ecuadorian Air Force, Director of Social Communication; among others.
Within his military training there are several courses, among which stand out: Ready for Combat, KFIR aircraft test pilot and instructor; military skydiving; what's more, He has taken other international courses such as: Right
Humanitarian International in Armed Conflicts (Italy), flight courses (Israel, Switzerland, USA, Brazil and Canada), Teaching Administration for Officers (USA), Psychological Operations (Colombia); It is worth mentioning that, in all courses, has stood out obtaining the first antiquities in each of them.
He has received institutional recognition, such as: the Condor de los Andes medal in the rank of Commander, and Condor of the Andes in the degree of Knight; Abdón Calderón in different classes, Grand Collar of Honor for Military Merit; Grand Cross of Military Honor, among other.
