Looking for how to organize a trip to get vaccinated in USA? I share a step-by-step guide to do it with your family or friends.
On USA now there are millions of vaccines left over that their own population does not want to apply for X or Y reason, so travel is in vogue to achieve what in many countries of Latin America it's still a long way off.
After a planning that began in January of this 2021, that required use of all possible accrued miles, but for the family welfare in common, I took two short trips to take both doses of Pfizer.
Once we calculated that by May and June the vaccination of non-residents in USA, we had everything planned, so here I share several tips that you should take into account to do it without problems and in the lowest possible budget.
Get vaccinated in the United States
let's go by parts, As I already told you, it was a family decision to do it with a two-dose vaccine, but this involved greater logistics, so yes they can do it with Jensen, this guide applies the same.
If you think your turn for the vaccine in your country is far from coming, keep reading:
where to do it?
First we must know that the vast majority of states have massified the vaccine for residents or non-residents of the United States:
- California
- Texas
- Florida
These are the states most visited by Latinos in the United States and all have opened their vaccination processes, so they can even do, at the airports of arrival.
Do not forget that the United States still requires a PCR or antigen test as a requirement to be able to board.
Tickets
- shop ahead, given the high demand, buying a ticket at the last minute will be more expensive than in other circumstances.
- search, if possible, you travel on non-holiday dates or on low days such as a Tuesday for example.
Lodging
- It is almost impossible to coordinate taking a dose and returning the same day, so they will need at least one night in a hotel.
- Make the hotel reservation only when you have the plane tickets ready.
- Find a hotel near the airport or the vaccination center to spend less on transportation.
- I recommend looking for hotels that allow payment at the establishment and not in advance, in case there are changes to the itinerary.
Auto
- Si se van a quedar más de 2 days, it is recommended car, sobre todo por que seguro se hará más de una compra.
- Vamos más de 1 año encerrados, por lo que querrán visitar parques, beaches or other places to get out of the routine in which we have lived.
- Al arrendar tienen la opción de pagar ese momento (sale más barato) or pay on arrival, recomiendo la segunda opción por si llegará a existir cambios en el itinerario.
¿Dónde me vacuno?
- In the case of California, You can make an appointment directly online, choose your time, lugar de vacunación más cercano o a su vez la marca de la misma.
- There are many places such as pharmacies where you can do so without an appointment by simply presenting your passport..
- En otros estados la situación es similar, incluso encontrando centros de vacunación en la playa, pero depende de la marca que estén buscando.
The return home
- Revisen los requisitos de ingreso de su país de origen, la gran mayoría sigue requiriendo presentar una prueba negativa PCR o antígenos, which can be done for free in many parts of the United States, just check the delivery time of the results.
- Algunos países ya permiten volver vacunados, pero se está aplicando el requisito de 15 días del certificado.
Así que si están organizando un viaje para vacunarse en Estados Unidos, I hope these tips are useful to you.

Hi Nicolas! I am in the USA for the vaccine, but I couldn't find an appointment and I had to reschedule my flight.
My Ecuadorian passport and my visa have not yet expired, but the minimum validity period of six months has already expired.
Maybe you know if they can deny me the return to Ecuador? Or the departure of the USA?
PD: I know you are not a migration agent, but at the consulate they do not answer.
Hello Maria, the problem you could have is the revocation of the visa for illegal stay. I recommend you find a way to contact US Immigration to solve your problem.
Hi Nicolas! If you allow me I would like to update this topic, in case someone goes or will go through the same thing:
I had no problem getting out of FLL, nor to reach UIO, but as you had warned me the TSA agent revoked my tourist visa with a penalty.
Any way, Thank you very much Nicolás for being the only one who gave me information and warned what it could cause.
Greetings
Hello Maria, very sorry. Could you give me more information about what happened?? How it happened, what did they tell you or what did they ask you?
Thank you very timely for the very helpful posts.
A pleasure Freddy, tell me how it goes.
