There would be a new airline being created in Ecuador, its name would be Fly Galapagos and this is what we know.
After having shared with you news about a new project called Galapagos Airways, It seems that there is a new competitor also wanting to break into the Ecuadorian market for scheduled and non-scheduled airline flights..
In an image that has been widely circulated on WhatsApp, you can see an image that seems to be from a PowerPoint presentation where they would be showing the fleet of this new airline project.
In the image above we can see the apparent presentation that would be being shared in search of possibly investment or presentation for air authorities, in this we already see a commercial name, Fly Galapagos and a web page address that is not currently active and does not have registration information.
The image highlights two aircraft that could potentially be part of its fleet:
- Airbus A321
- Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander
However, there is already a company that is operating in the Galapagos Islands, which also shares name, although without the tilde as in the case of this Airzab post.
are they the same company? I spoke with Fly Galapagos and they told me yes, they are the same company and that they are in the process of increasing their presence in the Ecuadorian air market, where currently with its fleet of Piper PA-31 and Islander BN2A aircraft it covers flights between San Cristóbal, Baltra e Isabela.
More plans and information would be revealed later as the project progresses..
