The Municipality of the city of Manta se hace de la administración of the Eloy Alfaro International Airport, by transfer of the DGAC.
With resolutionón DGAC-2022-0013-R del 9 February 2022, la Dirección General of Aviationón Civil of Ecuador has given next to the city of Manta un paso importante para un importante desarrollo aeronáutico y aeroportuario.
El Director General de Aviación Civil, Brig (SP) William Edwar Birkett Mórtola entregó al Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado del Cantón Manta, the Resolutionón con la que inicia el proceso de transferencia de la competencia del Aeropuerto Internacional General Eloy Alfaro de la ciudad de Manta.
this transfer, se da en cumplimiento a lo dispuesto por la presidencia de la República del Ecuador, in accordance with the letter sent on 25 of January of 2022. La transferencia comprende las competencias determinadas en el Artíass 1 of the Aviation Lawón Civil, con excepción of the áreas y servicios de Navegación Aérea.

It would be very good, that this.new.airport.serves to put Manta in a more important place in the commercial air activity .
It is a pity that with the importance that the city has gained in recent years it still does not have international flights, they should at least have some 2 weekly flights to Panama and Bogota ,in order to serve Manabi and surrounding areas and not be forced to depend on Quito or Guayaquil.
Totally and the potential is there, safe when the current issues are fixed plus the operation of the new terminal, doors open.
