This was the statistical movement of passengers in the airports of Ecuador during the 2021, progress is being made in recovering airline industry.
Little by little the world is moving to return to the pre-pandemic passenger numbers of the 2019 and that is reflected day by day in more passengers in the airports, airlines returning and flights increasing.
The panorama is still complex and new events generate uncertainty in the industry on a global scale, but surely there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Passenger statistics in Ecuador 2021
Today we are going to review how was the movement of passengers in the country during the 2021 at the different airports, both in international operation, domestic, regular and non-regular, in order to have a context of the recovery process of our market.
international regular service
In Ecuador the regular international service, transported during the year 2021, 2.585.308 passengers with a variation that represents the 76,86% regarding the year 2020 what happened with 1.461.791 passengers.

Compared, year 2020 they were transported 1.461.791 passengers on regular flights.
Quito airport
In the year 2021, mobilized a total of: 1.198.780 passengers; that if we compare with the year 2020 that were registered 683.629 passengers, growth is observed 75,36%. The passengers entering Quito were 581.830 while they were recorded 616.957 departing passengers.
Guayaquil airport
At 2021 mobilized a total of 1.386.521 passengers in regular air service; with a growth of 78,71% regarding the year 2020 that were registered 775.828. The passengers entered through the Guayaquil airport were 677.702 while those who left were 708.819 passengers, by regular air service.
International non-scheduled service
During the year 2021, registered a total movement of 35.419 passengers, of which 20.874 were transported by Quito airport, 8.859 passengers did it through the Guayaquil airport, and 5.686 passengers were transported through the LATACUNGA airport.
domestic regular service
In the year 2021 they were transported: 1.249.489 passengers. If it relates to the year 2020 in which they mobilized 862.683, growth is observed 44,84%.
Domestic non-regular service
In the year 2021 they were transported 56.090 passengers, in relation to the year 2020 that was transported 56.781 shows a decrease in -1,82%.
general aviation
In the year 2021 General Aviation in our country carried out 75.828 flights, value that, if we relate it to the previous year they were registered 67.650 operations, reflects a growth of 12,9%.

Total, near 4 million passengers flew through Ecuador's airports during the 2021 both in regular and non-regular domestic and international service:
