Aeroméxico began AIFA flights to Houston
This route began operations on 1 May of 2023 with a daily flight in teams Embraer 190; flights scheduled to Houston from the International Airport of the Mexico City (AICM) continue to be served normally with the previously known frequencies.
This is the ninth destination that Aeromexico offers from the AIFA, and the first route to connect said airport with USA. This flight allows customers to travel from Mexico City and the 8 national destinations that Aeroméxico operates in the AIFA (acapulco, Cancún, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Merida, oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta and Veracruz) to the United States of America, increasing connectivity between 2 countries.

- Flight AM2780 takes off from Felipe Ángeles at 3:00 pm and lands in Houston at 6:08 pm after 2 hours and 8 flight minutes.
- Flight AM2781 takes off from Houston at 07:40 am and lands back at AIFA at 08:55 hours after 2 hours and 15 flight minutes.

After a normative assessment and current conditions, US authorities and Mexico approved this route considering that the AIFA It also serves the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico, being able to avoid the restrictions that the category 2 imposes on the start of new routes.
Aeromexico reported that it works closely with the aeronautical authority of Mexico to recover the Category 1 aviation under the International Aviation Safety Assessment program (out, for its acronym in English) of the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States of America (FAA, for its acronym in English), in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (OACI), Specialized agency of the United Nations Organization (HIM-HER-IT).
