The Ecuadorian airline Equair has made the formal request to be able to operate flights between Quito, Guayaquil and Loja – Catamayo Airport.
Everything points to a new phase of domestic growth by Equair, which already fulfills 20 months of operations and has a fleet of 3 planes Boeing 737-700NG.
Having transported more than 500 thousand passengers in this initial period of operations, The airline begins to move its chips in the domestic market with the aim of increasing its market share and position the brand prior to a potential start of international operations As we had previously talked about in this space.
Equair with potentially flights to Loja
According to a recent request before the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Ecuador, The airline has indicated its intention to modify its operating permit to incorporate a new route, which is nothing more and nothing less than Store (Catamayo).
Specifically the past 2 of August, The airline requested the modification of its operating permit for the provision of air transportation service, public, domestic, regular passenger, cargo and mail, combined to include the following route:
- UIO y/o GYE – Loja – UIO, up to sixteen (16) weekly frequencies.
In this way, the airline adds a new destination to its Operation permit, what also adds to Manta, Sour Lake and Coca, the latter already confirmed as a new destination (I will soon inform you more details about frequencies and schedules), among the potential routes that the airline could also operate.
Let us remember that at the moment, Equair already operates from Quito to Guayaquil, Baltra and San Cristobal, plus a series of international charter flights during high holiday season in the mountains and coast of the country.
