Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland presented “Amare”, the new special Belgian icon for the festival. Amare represents unity for people around the world. The decoration of the new Airbus A320neo incorporates augmented reality, being a world first. What's more, Both companies join forces to make Tomorrowland flights more sustainable.
New plane for Tomorrowland
The new decoration was presented to the media, guests and employees during a special event at the Brussels Airlines Maintenance and Engineering hangar. The new Belgian icon is a tribute to the world famous music festival Tomorrowland and demonstrates once again the Belgian spirit of Brussels Airlines, which consists of bringing the world closer to Belgium and bringing the best of Belgium to the world.
Amare is the first airplane to incorporate augmented reality in its decoration, as the bird comes to life when scanned through specific social media channels such as Instagram and TikTok. This feature offers “The People of Tomorrow” a first augmented reality experience about the famous magical creature Amare, symbol of unity and that transcends time and space. The entire decoration design process took about 15 months and great attention was paid to details, from the bird's feathers to the sparkles of fireworks that transform into the Brussels Airlines logo.
The Tomorrowland experience will continue, of course, inside the plane, where passengers can enjoy the impressive sound system and special ambient cabin lighting.
Both companies are aware of their environmental impact and have worked to reduce it in recent years. The new Amare is the second new A320neo (with registration OO-SBB) which joins the Brussels Airlines fleet in December 2023.
The A320neo emits up to 20% less CO2 and up to 50% less noise than its predecessors. Therefore, the new Amare is a tangible example of how Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland aim to reduce their ecological impact.
What's more, all Global Journey Packages that Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland sell jointly will now be Green Fares, that offset flight emissions with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (20%) and thanks to the investment in qualitative CO2 reduction programs (80%). As if that were not enough, Tomorrowland and Brussels Airlines signed an agreement to invest in the purchase of SAF to offset the total carbon emissions of all party flights operated.

First inaugural flight
Amare will not only take festivalgoers to Tomorrowland, but will also operate commercial flights and did so from 26 april 2024 and on his "inaugural voyage" of 26 april 2024 flew to Tenerife, to 1:20 p.m., with flight number SN3781.
