In this installment we review what are the airports with more passengers and traffic from Latin America and the Caribe from 2023.
air traffic in Latin America experienced notable growth in 2023, recovering significantly from the effects of the pandemic. This was largely due to the reopening of borders, the increase in traveler confidence and the reactivation of the economy in many countries in the region.
The main airports in Latin America in 2023
According to data published by the Airports Council International (ACI), Brazil and Mexico consolidated themselves as the countries with the highest volume of air traffic in the region. Brazilian Guarulhos airports, Congonhas, Brasilia, Campinas, Santos Dumont and Belo Horizonte concentrated a large part of the total passenger traffic in the country.
For his part, Mexico City International Airport (AICM) was positioned as the terminal with the highest volume of passenger traffic at the regional level, representing approximately the 26% of total passengers in Mexico.
