Vietjet, the largest private airline in Vietnam, You have placed a new order to Airbus from 20 planes A330-900 widebody to drive strategic expansion over the next decade.

The agreement was signed in Hanoi by the president of Vietjet, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, y Wouter van Wersch, president of Airbus International. The documents were exchanged in the presence of the French president, Emmanuel Macron, and the Vietnamese president, Luong Cuong, during an official visit to the country of the French head of state.

This long-term order will drive the continued expansion of Vietjet's international network, which will allow the airline to increase flights on high-capacity routes in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as introducing new long distance services to Europe in the future.

The president of Vietjet, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, declared: «Modern Airbus aircraft, with the latest levels of efficiency and lower fuel consumption, have accompanied the growth of Vietjet and will continue to drive the expansion of our global flight network. “Vietjet remains committed to offering greater connectivity and sustainable air travel to millions of passengers around the world.”.

The new contract with Vietjet doubles its firm orders of the A330neo a 40 aircraft. What's more, The airline has orders for 96 Family single-aisle aircraft A320neo. Vietjet currently operates a fleet composed entirely of Airbus, made of 115 A320 Family single-aisle aircraft and seven A330-300.

Vietjet currently operates international services to Australia, India and Kazakhstan with their A330-300, offering passengers greater comfort and more options, even in Business Class. The fleet of A330 will continue to play a key role as Vietjet expands to further afield destinations, meeting the changing travel needs of domestic and international passengers.

Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent engines 7000 last generation, the A330-900 has the ability to fly 13 300 km without stops. The A330neo Incorporates the airspace cabin, offering passengers a unique experience, a high level of comfort, environment and design. This includes more individual space, larger upper compartments, a new lighting system and access to the most modern on-board entertainment and connectivity systems.

At the end of April 2025, the family A330 had received more than 1.800 firm orders of more than 130 clients all over the world. Like all aircraft in production, the A330neo can operate with up to 50% from Sustainable Aviation Fuel (PURE), with the aim of achieving the 100 % of its SAF capacity to 2030.
