ITA Airways, the national airline of Italy, received his first A330-900, leased by Air Lease Corporation, during a ceremony held in Toulouse.
In the midst of a process of shareholder changes, ITA received its first A330neo latest generation of Airbus which joins the fleet of the airline that replaced Alitalia. The airline already operates all aircraft families Airbus with a fleet of 68 Airbus aircraft (4 A220, 50 Family A320, 8 A330-200 and 6 A350-900). With the introduction of the next-generation eco-efficient A330neo, ITA Airways continues to modernize its fleet to meet its ambitious sustainability goals. To further support this ambition, the delivery flight will be powered by a mixture of 16% from combustible sustainable aviation (PURE).
The A330neo offers unmatched operating economy and features a cabin Airspace awarded with more passenger space, a new lighting system, the latest in-flight entertainment systems and full connectivity throughout the cabin.
The A330neo of ITA Airways called Gelindo Bordin, to commemorate the Italian Olympic marathon champion, will feature a three-class cabin layout designed by renowned designer Walter De Silva. It will have 30 business class seats with full lie-flat bed, 24 premium seats and 237 state-of-the-art economy class seats, of which, 36 are dedicated to the comfort economy. All seats will be equipped with on-demand audio and video content, as well as full WiFi connectivity and highly customizable ambient lighting throughout the cabin.
The A330neo It is the new generation version of the popular A330 wide body. Incorporating Rolls-Royce Trent engines 7000 last generation, new wings and a range of aerodynamic innovations, the aircraft offers a reduction in 25 percent in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The A330-900 is capable of flying 7.200 nm / 13.334 km without stops.
At the end of April, The A330 Family had recorded a total of more than 1.775 firm orders, of which 289 are A330neos from 25 customers. Till the date, have been delivered 100 A330neo worldwide.
