The group Air France KLM now has Tirzah as a new member of your Sustainable Aviation Fuel Program – PURE.
Leader in environmental protection and sustainable development of the food industry in Ecuador, NIRSA adds to the ambition and work of Air France and KLM for developing the industry and commercial use of alternative fuel that guarantees sustainable air transport.
The agreement signed last 27 August between Marie-Noëlle Landázuri, Air France KLM Manager for Ecuador, and Julio Aguirre Roman, Vice President of the Board of NIRSA, is part of the airline's corporate sustainable aviation fuel program.
To ensure that your route is completely neutral in carbon, the CO₂ emissions generated during the travel of NIRSA executives on the route amsterdam – Guayaquil, retroactively, since the year 2019 until the end of 2021, will be covered at 100% by NIRSA with a contribution destined to support the production and use of fuels SAF that has the highest quality certification available today: «Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)» y/o «Gold Standard (GS)».
"Aligned with NIRSA's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, we have signed an agreement with the airline KLM to minimize the carbon footprint by using sustainable fuel, which reduces emissions by up to 75%, compared to traditional fuels. This contribution complements and reaffirms our commitment to environmental care and the sustainability of resources, by being the first company in Latin America to innovate its way of traveling in a sustainable way” Carolina Bolaños, SA manager & RSE
For his part, Marie-Noëlle Landázuri, Air France KLM Manager for Ecuador, assured: «
«It is an immense pride for the Air France KLM Ecuador team to achieve the signing of the first SAF passenger agreement in South America, thanks to the support of an Ecuadorian company. We are honored to have NIRSA as a partner of the SAF program. We share the ambition to care for the environment but also, the concrete commitment for the sustainable future of our industries. The launch of the first carbon neutral route between Amsterdam and Guayaquil is a dream come true for our team and, at the same time, a new starting point.”
PURE, the Air France KLM Sustainable Aviation Fuel Program
the SAF program (Sustainable Aviation Fuel for its acronym in English), released in January 2021, calls on companies to play an active role in the future of travel sustainable, through an annual contribution that the air group invests in the supply and use of sustainable fuel for aviation.
With chemical and physical characteristics almost identical to those of conventional aviation fuel, the SAF is the most effective measure the industry has to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. To date they have been associated, among other companies under corporate passenger contract; Ficus, Acciona Forwarding, Airpharm Logistics S.A.U., ABN AMRO Bank, Arcades, Lavazza, as well as companies under corporate agreements with Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, like the Ecuadorian Davila and Currillo, la peruana Smart Global Logistic, Bolloré or Kuehne&Nagel.
