Arajet, the flag airline of the Dominican Republic, inaugurated its flights between Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and the Orlando International Airport Sanford (SFB), becoming the only active international operation at said US airport.
The Punta Cana–Orlando Sanford route will operate three times a week, Tuesdays, friday and sunday, and will allow travelers to connect from Florida Central with six important cities in Latin America: Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Santiago de Chile, Mexico City, Córdoba and Lima.

During the opening ceremony, the Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Orlando, Sunday Rosario, highlighted the importance of flight, “We are pleased to welcome this inaugural flight from Arajet, that strengthens ties between the Dominican Republic and the state of Florida. “We appreciate the support of President Luis Abinader and his vision of promoting Dominican air connectivity.”
For his part, Nicole Martz, president of the International Airport Orlando Sanford (SFB), celebrated the arrival of the Dominican airline, “We are delighted to welcome Arajet as a new airline partner. This inaugural flight marks a fantastic chapter for us, not only by adding a vibrant airline to our network, but also by reconnecting our community with the world. “We are very happy to reopen our doors to international flights and look forward to building a successful and long-lasting relationship with Arajet.”

Since the launch of its route to Miami at the beginning of 2025, the airline has recorded record demand in the state. Orlando thus becomes the second city in Florida served by Arajet, reaffirming its commitment to connecting the diverse Floridian communities with the Dominican Republic and the rest of the Americas.
