The low-price Dominican airline, Arajet, has officially confirmed its return to the Ecuadorian market, reactivating direct connectivity between Punta Cana and Guayaquil.
This return represents a key step in the expansion of its route network, once again consolidating its presence in the South American market after a period of absence.
Arajet returns to Ecuador flying to Guayaquil
The airline company ceased its operations in Ecuadorian territory last 8 November 2025. On that occasion, The measure was part of a regional strategic restructuring that prioritized the strengthening of routes to USA and other destinations Caribe. Nevertheless, The increase in passenger demand and the importance of the Andean market have motivated the resumption of services.

The restart of operations is scheduled for October 2026. The airline will gradually resume its flights, initially offering two weekly frequencies to the main port.
- Punta Cana (PUJ) – Guayaquil (GYE): will operate on Mondays and Fridays.
- Guayaquil (GYE) – Punta Cana (PUJ): It will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
This initial offer seeks to satisfy both corporate and tourist traffic, facilitating quick connections to other destinations in the airline's network from its hub at the Punta Cana International Airport.

The itineraries scheduled for this return are the following:
- Ida flight: PUJ departure at 11:17 pm, arrival at GYE at 2:15 am con 3 hours and 39 flight minutes.
- Return flight: GYE departure at 3:18 am, arrival at PUJ at 8:03 am (+1) with 3 hours 45 flight minutes.
For now, These hours and days of operation allow you to connect to Guayaquil with Cancun, Kingston, Miami, Orlando and Saint John.
