Avianca make changes to your frequent flyer program LifeMiles It is 2023 to offer better benefits to Elite members.
LifeMiles, the loyalty program Avianca and one of the most awarded in the American continent, is renewed this year to provide new benefits to its Elite members and facilitate the qualification to the Elite Statuses by allowing all the accumulated miles to add to the progress.
Continuing with his plans for this year, Avianca has presented some novelties to its LifeMiles frequency travelers program for this 2023, focused on its Elite members.
“For this year we have made changes to the program that respond to what our clients asked us in 2022. We expanded the benefits of the Elite program and did what we could to make those benefits easier to use. Now it's easier than ever to qualify for or maintain Elite status right from the start. 1 of January all the miles that are accumulated flying with Avianca, using co-branded credit cards and all the options we have add up to Elite status, expressed Matt Vincentt, LifeMiles CEO.
LifeMiles program changes
Some of the main novelties that the company brings are:
- New alternatives to earn qualifying miles for Elite status: to the option of earning miles for traveling on Avianca or Star Alliance member airlines now also adds the accrual when using LifeMiles debit or credit cards, the LifeMiles Pay platform (available in Colombia), subscribing to LifeMiles Club, for purchases in allied stores and for the purchase of miles, among other.
- 5% miles refund for Elite members when they redeem their miles for Avianca flights at LifeMiles.com that are credited to their account. This benefit applies to purchases in all sizes for the member and tickets issued for third parties from the account holder.. It is valid on promotional miles and without annual maximums or date restrictions.
- Access to benefits for your flight in a simpler way: according to their Elite status, each member will receive a fixed amount of benefits as income to Avianca Lounges, selection of a Premium seat or upgrades to business class on flights to and from Europe* and you will be able to manage them more easily.

Hola Christian, hard to give an opinion, since I do not have all those programs and I have only used the AAmerican one, Diners, Pichincha and LATAM Pass. My recommendation is to review one by one which one gives you more miles for consumption and which one does not charge you extra or separately for taxes, for example.

Do you think that Avianca remains firm with its model in the face of the wave of complaints and negative comments from passengers?, Or do you think that Avianca is going to sell and aim for a low cost semi or something more complete?? Hi Carlos, Like everything in life there are stages of trial and error., if they see that their occupancy averages are going down, I'm sure they'll take action to correct what's wrong..
