A new report reveals the airlines that transport the most passengers in Latin America, together they exceed the 175 million annually during the 2017.

In the report, are shown 8 traditional airlines that transport the most passengers annually in Latin America, where Ecuador stands out favorably with its flag airline Tame EP in the post 7.

What is interesting about this report, is that Azul has been taken in the same, although this is considered low cost, but you could also say “semi low-cost”.

Position Airline Millions of passengers
1 Latam Airlines 67.15
2 Avianca 29.4
3 Blue 22
4 Aeromexico 20.67
5 Argentinian airlines 15.7
6 Cup 13.5
7 Tame 5.2
8 Bolivian Aviation 3.7

LATAM Airlines leads in passenger transport in the region, doubling the number of passengers carried by Avianca.

It is striking that in the case of LATAM Airlines, the 76.1% of its transported passengers correspond to domestic flights by having subsidiaries in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil and the 23.9% international.

In third place, We find Azul from Brazil that marks a presence with more than 22 millions of passengers transported and in the study they consider it as traditional, although really, it is not.

For Azul Linhas Aereas, domestic traffic represents the 80% of their numbers, since its international growth began recently.

in the positions 4 and 5 we find Aeromexico and Argentinian airlines respectively, with a difference of 5 millions between each.

At 2017, Aeroméxico presented the highest growth in the 2017 with the 7.5% compared to last year.

The last 3 The positions are closed by Copa with 13 and a half million annual passengers, Tame with 5.2 and Boliviana de Aviación with 3.7.

The minors in the ranking stand out for having the smallest fleets and the fewest routes operated on the list., but quite far from the largest.

The particular case of Tame EP, which after 3 years of crisis, begins to show better operating results and BoA that carries 3.7 million passengers alone, with its domestic routes in Bolivia, are worth mentioning.
