It's not just Disney or Universal Studios, the Kennedy Space Center in Florida is a different attraction and recommended for the whole family.

Kennedy Space Center en Florida
Location
- Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, SR 405, FL 32899
How to get?
The most recommended as always, is renting a car to get around USA usually. To get to the KSC, It's quite simple using Google Maps (personally, i prefer this app) o Waze.

From Fort Lauderdale, airport where I arrived, the transfer time by car is 3 hours and could vary due to road and traffic conditions. So do not forget to plan the transfer times to be able to enjoy the experience to the fullest..
At the KSC there is a large parking lot, which can be prepaid online by $10 dollars that covers the whole day of visit.
Cost
Various types of tickets are offered at the KSC, personally, I only used the pass 1 day (prices in dollars).

Journey to Kennedy Space Center
I recommend arriving as early as possible and close to the opening time of the KSC to enjoy the day to the fullest., tours and attractions.
Inside the Visitors Cender, they find each other 9 attractions, which can be visited all in one day quietly.

It should be noted, that some of these attractions have additional costs such as having lunch with an astronaut, training to be an astronaut, mars simulator, additional tours and others.
Personally, I don't consider myself a space lover, like yes of aviation, but I have always found all the history and technology behind the whole space theme very interesting, that even, has required greater technological developments and gigantic monetary investments to be able to carry them out.
All this history and development is shown in the first attraction, the heroes & Legends, This space is sponsored by Boeing, so it is a must see.

James Arthur Lovell, Apollo mission commander 13, which suffered a critical failure en route to the moon, but managed to return to Earth safely. There are several photos of outstanding people in the world.

Representation identical to the control room of the first manned space missions.

And Heroes & Legends are various uniforms, helmets and hundreds of memories of the first missions that put man in space for the first time.

There are several visits that can be made and it depends on the tastes of each one. There is a great general gift shop, but there is also another specialized Space Shuttle Atlantis. Movie Features at IMAX, research centers and others.

For those of us who like airplanes, a necessary stop is the Northrop T-38 Talon for high-speed, G-force training, as well as the Memorial Center, where tribute is paid to all the astronauts who have died in the various missions that did not conclude successfully.

With a bus tour that lasts 45 minutes and has no additional cost, it is done by presenting the entrance tickets, you can tour various areas of the entire complex, visiting the ferry construction center up close, drop zones and many others.
This tour that tells what videos and a guide / driver, all english, It is very entertaining and the best, is that it ends at the Apollo / Saturn V Center, place where you can learn more in detail about the development of these missions.

This visit lasts about 30 minutes, which has exhibits, dramatization of a launch and museums. The time depends on the attention one wants to pay, there is also a gift shop.
The size of the rockets is impressive and allows us to realize that the space race is on another level. Highly recommended visit!
Buses back to the KSC leave every 10 minutes and they have no cost.

On the return of the Apollo / Saturn V Center, the visit continued on the Space Shuttle Atlantis, last space shuttle in operation, His last mission was 21 July 2011, closing this chapter after fulfilling 33 missions in space.
Today, The United States is working on a new concept of space travel, with new technology being developed right here. The year should see the light 2023 to start tests, since today, it all depends on russia.

The size of the fuel tanks is incredible, llama la atención que siempre los astronautas han estado «montados» en enormes bombas, out of your control.

Inside the space reserved for the Space Shuttle Atlantis are landing simulators (I spent almost half an hour on them), games, videos and more. Safety pin.

At 6 o'clock, the KSC closes its doors, but the feeling of having learned a lot about topics that generally in our region sound like a myth or very distant is indescribable.
a must see, how little is promoted, but that should not be missing on your next visit to Florida.

Hello there.
I visited him in the summer of 2015.
The entire space center is spectacular, but there is no doubt that the Saturn V is the one that really leaves you speechless.
Greetings
Hello John, Thanks for your comment! I agree, the Saturn V is from another world, almost. I would go back to the KSC any day.
