KLM, Royal Dutch Aviation Company resumed in the afternoon of 2 of August its commercial operation to Guayaquil. To celebrate KLM's return to its tracks, the authorities of the José Joaquín de Olmedo international airport welcomed the plane with a traditional water arch.
The Amsterdam route – Quito – Guayaquil will operate with 4 weekly frequencies at the following times:
- Frequencies on Mondays, Wednesday, thursday and saturday.
- Quito – Guayaquil takes off at 16 hours and lands at 17 hours.
- Guayaquil – Amsterdam takes off at 18:35 hours and lands at 13:15 hours of the next day.
"We are happy to return to Guayaquil and be able to serve this beloved market, where KLM first arrived 66 years. And it is that, in addition to reconnecting Guayaquil to the route, we are increasing a frequency. Aeromexico
Aeroméxico restarted its operations on 2 last August in Quito with an offer of three weekly flights to Mexico City. To celebrate the return of the airline to Ecuador, the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito received the Mexican aircraft with the traditional water arch.
During the contingency, Aeroméxico transported to Ecuador more than 27 tons of essential medical supplies to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the flights was operated with a Boeing 787- 9 Dreamliner, who for the first time flew to this destination.
On your flights restart, Aeroméxico will fly with the following frequencies and schedules:
- AM684 CDMX – Quito takes off 18:00 hrs, land 22:50 hrs Lunes, Thursday and Saturday.
- AM685 Quito – CDMX takes off 01:00 hrs, land 05:50 hrs Martes, Friday and Sunday.
