El Kapari Lodge
In search of places that take us away from the city and that give us the options of being in the middle of nature without sacrificing the comforts of technology., We found a hidden gem in the cloud forest of Mindo, in full Andean Chocó.
How to get to Kapari Lodge
Leaving Quito we headed north., and 30 minutes after the entrance to Mindo and turning off at Los Bancos towards La Florida route, We find a small detour with a large sign that announces the entrance to the Kapari Lodge located in the heart of the biodiverse Chocó Andino.:
Arrival at Kapari Lodge
Check-in starts at 14:00 hours, but if you arrive a little earlier it doesn't matter, because the lodge has several activities to enjoy such as the pool, guided walks, places for bird watching, ping-pong and billiards room, open restaurant, and viewpoints to enjoy the panoramic view of the place.
Bedrooms
If you are looking for comfort, Wi-fi and open places to spend time with family or as a couple, it's a good option, since it is a large lodge with many activities to do or simply a place to relax in the pool or unwind with a great view of the Blanco River.

The excursions are defined every day at fixed times, and you can choose the one that interests you the most., but to participate in all. Even, They offer an excursion at night, which was the one I enjoyed the most, since we were able to see opossums and the famous and endemic olinguitos, They move so fast that unfortunately they didn't look good in the photos..
The Lodge emphasizes a very particular activity, which is bird watching. (birdwatching). This is something we've never done before., but this place was ideal, since it has well-thought-out spaces in which one can sit, see a variety of amazing and undisturbed birds, take photos and admire the natural dynamics between them.
It also has a viewpoint dedicated to the quindes/hummingbirds/hummingbirds and it is the first activity very early in the morning. Maybe it's an activity that doesn't sound very attractive so early., but once there it is very relaxing, just sit and admire these beautiful birds as the day begins.
