The Quito Mariscal Sucre International Airport informed that it will close for three Saturdays due to the fact that maintenance preventative of your runway.

In order to keep the airport infrastructure always in optimal conditions, preventive maintenance work will be carried out on the runway and on taxiway A18 of the Quito airport in the months of September and October.

For three consecutive Saturdays, operations will be temporarily suspended on the following dates and times according to the NOTAM of the 6 July 2021:

  • 18 September 02:30 a 14:30 local time.
  • 25 September 02:30 a 14:30 local time.
  • 02 October 02:3 a 14:30 local time.

The airlines that operate in the Quito airport have been notified in advance so that they can organize flights and properly inform their passengers about itinerary changes, so it is recommended, in case of flying from or to the city on the indicated days, contact your airlines in advance to coordinate changes if applicable.

It should be noted and remembered that flights will operate normally before and after the closing hours indicated, so if you have a flight that day, but outside of temporary closing hours, there will be no affectation or change, unless the airline so determines.

The dates and times chosen for these works guarantee a minimum affectation less than 5% of the weekly flights to the regular operation of the airport, because they are the periods in which the least number of flights is recorded.
