The Colombian freighter LAS Cargo made the first flight to Quito with his newest acquisition, Her first Boeing 737-400F.
Last 10 February landed in the afternoon hours, from Bogota and for the first time, the B737-400F of LAS Cargo in Quito, thus offering a new equipment for its operation between Colombia and Ecuador adding to the already existing and operational Boeing 727-200F and 737-300F.

LAS Cargo's Boeing 737-400F
Upon arrival at Quito, at approximately 4:00 p.m. he was received by the traditional water arch by the firefighters Mariscal Sucre Airport. as it is to imagine, The majority of the load of this plane on its first flight was flowers for the foreign market that is booming during the freighter season for Valentine's Day of this year.
With this, LAS Cargo offers, apart from a new team for this route, more load capacity reaching the 45.000 pounds, unlike his peer, the B737-300F, which has an approximate capacity of 42.000 pounds.
Let us remember that for some decades, LAS Cargo or Líneas Aéreas Suramericanas has visited us both in Quito, as in Guayaquil and Manta with their Boeing 727-100F and -200F. More recently also with its B737-300F and now this new aircraft is added.

This Boeing 737-400F initially belonged to the South Korean Asiana Airlines where it operated as a passenger plane between 1997 and 2006 with license plate HL7512. Subsequently, operated with the Italian Air One and with Blue Bird Airways as EI-DOV and SX-TZE respectively. On 2016, It became a freighter and began to operate by ASL Airlines Belgium with registration OE-IAX and then stayed with the same freighter airline but in its French division as F-GZZT where it ended its days in Europe and finally painted as LAS Cargo was delivered in Colombia the 15 from December to 2021.

very nice plane, must have been one of the last 737 classic to leave the factory since these planes were manufactured until that year or so, we must thank LAS for bringing those beautiful and classic planes to UIO, especially the 727. Good post
