The VIK Hotel Arena Blanca
Taking advantage of this conjuncture of the growth of connectivity between both countries, we travel to this destination, that enjoys a huge hotel offer, mostly all inclusive, but this time we stayed at the VIK Arena Blanca, a striking beachside hotel offering a wide variety of activities alongside the warm waters of the Caribe.

Reception
In Punta Cana, the VIK Hotel Arena Blanca is a very good option to stay in a place that provides several facilities. Located just 30 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, upon entering the hotel there is a spacious reception, with high ceilings where you feel a warm welcome from the Dominican Caribbean. the staff, very cordial, greeted us with room cards and guest bracelet.
Facilities and activities
The facilities and activities are mainly focused more on being around the pool or sunbathing by the sea. the nearby beach, just meters from your room, It is at the back of the hotel and it is a public beach.. However there are not many people outside the hotel who use it. As part of the facilities, does the hotel provide chairs, tables and parasols so guests can lounge in the sun with their favorite drink.
Likewise, It has several drink stations, one near the pool and another near the beach where you can enjoy alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks for all tastes and ages.
At lunch time the main restaurant offers a huge variety of food, such as soups, salads, rice, proteins and desserts. The food is varied and there are options of both local and international dishes..
They also have specific facilities to provide food to suit the guest., For example, there is always a Chinese food station at night., or pasta with a variety of sauces to taste.
at dinner time, a second a la carte restaurant called Estrella de Mar opens, which is a bit more refined, based on an a la carte menu with a defined number of dishes (Prohibited, main dish, dessert, drink).
The hotel offers activities from noon to night focused on people who want to do something different during the day more than sea and sand. You can sign up for dance classes, yoga, family games, volleyball tournaments, chess game and group night activities.
There are even several SPA cabins for relaxing and decontracting massages that can be reserved in advance at reception.
Bedrooms
There are several blocks of rooms, four stories each. Each room has its private bathroom, shower with hot water and some with jacuzzi. The rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fan plus a beautiful balcony.
Tips
- The a la carte restaurant, has a few light dress rules, you have to go a little more casual compared to the buffet restaurant.
- at drink stations, you can order typical caribbean drinks, such as pina colada or coco loco, You always have to specify to the tender bar if you want them with or without alcohol.
- Near the beach, there is a small restaurant, the buccaneer, where is a pizza station, hamburgers and hot dogs throughout the afternoon. Wood fired pizza is very good., highly recommended.
- The typical dish of the Dominican Republic is the flag, the one with white rice, grilled red beans in their sauce and protein. This dish is always available in the main buffet.
- You also have to try the mangú which is green banana.
- during breakfast, There is another typical dish called Mangú, it is mashed green plantain with onion., that goes very well with a cup of coffee.
- In certain months of the year there is sargassum on the shores of the beach. Same as the hotel goes to great lengths to keep it under control, there are days with a lot, but it does not prevent one from enjoying the beach, since they are harmless algae.
