Esta segunda y última etapa del FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour lo llevó en Sudamérica por Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Ecuador. Quito fue el último destino en Sudamérica de la copa del mundo antes de volar hacia Costa Rica y EEUU las dos paradas anteriores a Arabia Saudita y Catar donde termina el tour días antes de la cita mundialista.
The Titan Airways A320, registered as G-POWM and in charge of transporting the cup to the 32 países participantes llegó al Aeropuerto Mariscal Sucre la mañanna of the 31 October from Carrasco Airport in Montevideo.
Este vuelo llegó con periodistas deportivos, coke staff (Auspicious of the tour) and with the presence of former Brazilian defender Lucimar da Silva Ferreira, better known as “Lúcio”. Tras el arribo del avión con la copa varios medios de comunicación entraron a ver la copa y transmitir en vivo su llegada antes de que la copa se bajaba en una maleta hacia un auto que la transportaría al Palacio de Carondelet.
La Copa del Mundo nos había visitado en una ocasión anterior en Enero de 2014, en aquella ocasión un McDonnell Douglas MD-83 de Danish Air Transport (WHICH) registered as OY-RUE was in charge of transporting it. On 2018 aunque la copa no llegó al país, the grandfatherón del tour fue un Boeing 737-300 of the same Titan Airways registered as G-POWC.
After two daysías en la capital, the grandfatherón goneó la mañanna of the 2 de Noviembre rumbo a San José para continuar con el tour:
- 5-8 of November – USA
- 9 of November – Canadaá
- 11 and 12 of November: Arabia Saudí
- 13 and 14 of November: Qatar
