LATAM Airlines will restart its flights to the Melbourne, Australia from next September from Santiago de Chile.
The recovery of the Chilean airline industry continues, that it has seen its return to normality difficult due to the restrictive and sanitary measures that are still in force in this country, but they are expected to relax in the coming weeks, while other countries have done so, as is the case of Colombia.

LATAM will return with flights to Melbourne
From the 1 of September LATAM Airlines will resume its connection with Melbourne, Australia from Santiago de Chile operating with three weekly frequencies the route that was suspended due to the arrival of the pandemic. LATAM had already restarted its operations towards Australia in March of last year with the return of its flights to Sidney with three weekly flights increasing operations until reaching a daily connection in December 2022.
“We are very happy to reinforce the connectivity between South America and Oceania through this second route to Australia.. We will maintain our commitment to offer more options to bring people closer to their destination safely, punctuality and an internationally recognized service”, said Maria Paz Villasante, Commercial Strategy Manager, LATAM Airlines Group
For his part, the Victorian State Government Minister for Industry and Innovation (Australia), Ben Carroll, reinforced the importance of restarting operations of LATAM in oceania: “It will help boost our economy by boosting exports, create jobs and welcome more tourists and students from Latin America”.
The flights will have three weekly frequencies departing from Santiago, Chile the days (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) returning from Melbourne, Australia the next day. The flights will be operated on aircraft Boeing 787-9, with capacity for 300 passengers distributed in Premium Business cabins, Economy+ y Economy.
The flights will take off from Santiago to Melbourne at 00:55 (local time) arriving in Melbourne at 5:30 (local time) the next day the return from Melbourne to Santiago, will take off at 12:25 (local time) arriving in Santiago at 11:20 of the same day (local time).
