Vietnam Airlines will gain in reliability and capacity with the introduction of the 737-8, since the country's air traffic is expected to double to exceed the 75 million passengers annually in the next 10 years. As the most versatile single-aisle aircraft on the market, the 737-8 can carry up to 200 passengers, depending on configuration, with an autonomy of up to 3500 nautical miles (6480 km) for the expansion of the airline's short and medium-haul network.

Boeing and Sun PhuQuoc Airways announced today that the new Vietnam-based airline has ordered up to 40 planes 787 Dreamliner to form the backbone of its widebody fleet. The airline will use the ultra-efficient 787 Long-range Dreamliner to connect international travelers with its hub in Vietnam, Phu Quoc International Airport.
