Air Canada received in Hamburg his first Airbus A321XLR, a new generation single-aisle aircraft designed to cover long-range routes efficiently and with greater passenger comfort.
The arrival of this plane, leased to SMBC Aviation Capital, marks an important milestone in the fleet renewal and growth strategy Air Canada, which hopes to incorporate a total of 30 units of A321XLR (15 through leasing and 15 purchased directly from Airbus S.A.S.) over the next few years.

The A321XLR enhances the capacity of Air Canada to serve new transcontinental and transatlantic city pairs.
The new Glowing Hearted cabin standard makes its debut in the A321XLR, offering calm, comfort and connectivity. It has power outlets for personal devices in each seat, Fast, free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members, state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment screens (larger and with Bluetooth connectivity) and cabin finishes inspired by the Canadian landscape, aligned with the airline's brand and quality commitment. For the first time on Air Canada, A321XLR will also offer Air Canada Signature Class on a single-aisle aircraft, with 14 seats that convert into beds (lie-flat).
After Transport certification Canada and its entry into service, Air Canada plans to integrate the A321XLR into its schedule progressively to support the growth of its network. The aircraft's performance and range characteristics are ideal for adjusting to seasonal demand patterns and evolving market opportunities..
This delivery represents the most recent step in the multi-year fleet modernization program of Air Canada, focused on customer experience, operational resilience and improved fuel efficiency compared to previous generation aircraft. Reflects the airline's commitment to prudent growth, continued investment in the product and disciplined execution. Besides of A321XLR, Air Canada has announced orders for eight A350-1000 for delivery from 2030 and 14 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner. in addition, continues to receive deliveries from Airbus A220 manufactured in Canada, with 23 aircraft pending a firm order 65. Five aircraft have also been delivered Boeing 737 MAX under lease in 2026.
