Emirates has reached the record number of 100 renewed aircraft within its modernization program, the largest undertaken by any airline worldwide.
Since work began in November 2022, 47 Airbus A380 and 53 Boeing 777 have received a complete renovation in the hangars of Emirates Engineering in Dubai. Modernization engineering
Since the project began in November 2022, Emirates engineering team has modernized an average of 28 aircraft per year. In each modernization, Engineers completely disassemble the interior of the aircraft, carry out an exhaustive renovation of all the cabins with more than 4000 parts for an A380 and more 2500 for a Boeing 777, and then they reassemble it with precision.
The engineering team Emirates also developed innovative solutions to manage a project of such magnitude, including the use of modified catering trucks inside the hangars to transport large parts to and from the modernization workshop and aircraft. From design to the track

Recycling
In line with its commitment to sustainability, thousands of kilograms of high quality leather, Fabrics and other materials removed from retrofitted aircraft are recycled to create a variety of limited edition collector's pieces, as luggage items from the line «Aircrafted by Emirates». Emirates has also distributed more than 4000 backpacks made with fabric recycled from economy class seats to children in 11 countries.
