to materialize, would become the operator 19 history of this aircraft worldwide, which are currently in operation 84 of these aircraft Qantas, Hawaiian Airlines y Delta, where the latter has started the early retirement process.
In said communication published 24 last april, the airline, among other issues, also announced that the 29 april 2021 will virtually launch its corporate image as well as its frequent flyer programs, founders club and boutique.
As you progress through your AOC process, which, according to the statement itself, has not been able to advance at the expected pace given the current restrictive conditions, the airline also confirmed that the Dash 8-Q400 will be part of your fleet as had been anticipated in the 2020 for lower demand destinations within Ecuador.
About the Boeing 717
Manufactured Between 1998 and the 2006, with a total of 156 assembled aircraft, the 717 builds on the reliability of the DC-9 to offer improved flight operations and better maintainability, including BR715 engine, which was designed to be one of the easiest engines to maintain in the industry. LCD technology presents information more efficiently on the flight deck, and versatile integrated avionics computers perform the functions of the FMS, the central audible warning system and the flight data acquisition system.
The improvements of this model range from the air conditioning, interiors and flight controls to pneumatics, ice protection, water and waste, APU, fuel and engines. As a result of an improved design process, the aircraft offers improved accessibility to components, easier maintenance, more flexible maintenance planning, higher levels of dispatch reliability and lower maintenance costs.

I don't think he 717 be such a bad choice… currently there is a320 and 737 manufactured before 2000 who continue to provide services… remember that the 717 they were the most advanced version of the md 90 which were just designed by md to compete with boeing and airbus.. before boeing buys the company
Yes, it's an interesting idea, only the issue of performance in some airports I have doubts.
Good for the effort to invest but bad because it is confirmed that Ecuador is one of the garbage dumps of the developed world. These planes have about 20 years.
Hello Alberto, I don't think it's "garbage" Ecuador, plus new airlines that are not tied to a large shareholder group should look for aircraft that are inexpensive to operate and rent monthly. With the current situation, a new airline cannot afford to have new package planes., my point of view.
Incredible I imagined a 717 Ecuadorian, It is a great plane and I was surprised and very happy when I saw the title
Let's hope it materializes.
WOW, It would be very nice to see a 717 Ecuadorian. The problem I see is that they are not that young aircraft and they will retire from our future fleet due to old age..
Changing the subject
Maybe you know if the parcel load is increasing here in Quito??
Because I see more UPS flights and a Fedex flight is landing this morning. This last one caught my attention..
I think it is the first time that a Fedex landed in Quito.
They certainly aren't the youngest., But they are not "old" for what they still have many years to fly and depend on the airline project. About cargo flights, it's for mother's day, the frequencies are slightly increased by the roses.
Of course it all depends on the airline..
It is true that in these months the load of roses increases, I had forgotten about that detail
Thanks.
You are welcome!
Honestly, it would be good news as they are state-of-the-art aircraft., Ecuador regresses in terms of efficiency, savings and consumption compared to regional aircraft such as the Embraer E-190-195 which are more modern than the B717 -which I liked yes- but they should no longer be attractive today in this decade, several airlines that operate them as you say Nicolás; Qantas, Hawaiian and Delta that will probably be the last to withdraw them. Ecuador needs to operate with aircraft with greater # of operating cycles rather than by aircraft age. Today there are so many second-hand Bombardier CRJ-700/1000s that it would make more sense to team up with the Dash Q400s in terms of training costs., operation.
I understand your point, but cost issues for a new airline skyrocket when considering newer aircraft and I don't see a setback, more when they are just starting and must support millionaire investments.
Totally agree Nicolás regarding starting with older aircraft. Ecuadorian, the same happens with Aeroregional, Avioandes and for example Eastern in the USA.
And indeed, a FedEx Boeing 767-300ERF landed in Quito.
That's right Carlos, I hope FedEx stays.
How right you are, they should manage much newer and more efficient aircraft both for efficiency in fuel consumption and for safety, above all, security
hi edwin, why a plane let's say 20 years is insecure?
