With date 9 July 2021, the National COE of Ecuador reported on the new guidelines for entry by air that will come into effect from 11:59 p.m. 15 July 2021, despite its recent update less than a month ago.

• All passengers whose point of origin, layover or transit Brazil e India must present a negative RT-PCR test result with 72 hours prior to boarding your flight. This requirement is mandatory for travelers regardless of whether they are already vaccinated.
• All passengers whose point of origin, stopover or transit is Brazil and India and are residents, Ecuadorian citizens or tourists, must undergo preventive isolation for 10 days in their homes or in any accommodation site at the traveler's free choice and cost, independent of the result of a diagnostic test for COVID-19. The Ministry of Health will be responsible for following up on this provision..
• Travelers from countries other than Brazil and India, They will present as a requirement prior to shipment the vaccination card with its complete scheme and that it is in force with 14 days prior to shipment or a negative RT-PCR test with 72 hours prior to boarding. Antigen test is eliminated as a requirement to enter the country, being the only valid one the RT-PCR.

• The National COE, will evaluate each 15 days this provision being able to maintain and expand the list of countries to which these requirements will be required, which will depend on: presence of worry variants, community spread of these variants (ALFA, BETA, DELTA, GAMMA) and low vaccination coverage in such countries.
  • This provision will enter into force as of 11:59 p.m. 15 July 2021.
  • Order the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, notify Embassies and Consulates of this provision.
  • Order the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, notify this provision to the airlines that operate in the country for its application in the place of origin of the flights.
  • Order the Ministry of Tourism, notify this provision to tourist service agencies operating in the country.

It has not been specified whether these requirements, which is the elimination of the antigen test also applies to Galapagos.
