Avianca Holdings announces the start of 7 new direct international routes in Ecuador from Quito and Guayaquil.
In line with its expansion plan this year to operate more direct routes, Avianca today announced the launch of 23 new international routes until the year 2022, among which are new non-stop flights from: Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Guatemala and The Savior.

Manuel Ambriz, Chief Commercial Officer de Avianca, indicated that:

Launch 23 new routes to 2022 shows that we want to continue growing sustainably and that we have the firm intention of continuing to be the airline with the most robust route network in our region. We know that our clients want more destinations and more frequencies. We will continue to adapt our offer to give our customers what they really value.: competitive prices, custom product, the best network and service reliability”.

New routes from Ecuador

Currently, Avianca operates 23 direct weekly flights from Quito and Guayaquil to Bogota and San Salvador, which will soon be added 7 new routes (4 Destinations) to Colombia and the United States to which the Ecuadorian passenger will fly non-stop:

  • Quito – Miami
  • Guayaquil – Miami
  • Quito – New York
  • Guayaquil – New York
  • Quito – Cali
  • Guayaquil – Medellin
  • Quito – Medellin

“Direct connectivity with Miami and New York is something that the Ecuadorian passenger has been asking us for since they are markets with a strong tourist component and visits to relatives.. Pronto, That request will be a reality and our travelers will be able to fly with a product tailored to their needs”, noted David Aleman, General Director of Avianca for Central and South America of Avianca. AND, added that, "With this operation we also seek to strengthen the offer so that more American passengers arrive and get to know Ecuador, especially Galapagos, which is a destination of great interest in the region”.

The airline has domestic flights to Quito, Guayaquil, Manta, Saint Christopher and Baltra. From October it will also fly to Cuenca.

so far this year, Avianca has inaugurated 6 direct routes: Medellin-Cancun, Medellin-Punta Cana, Miami-San Jose, San Salvador-Ontario, Cali-Orlando and Pereira-Santa Marta, all with excellent performance.
After the presentation of the Reorganization Plan, as well as the assurance of US1,600 million in commitments to finance its exit from Chapter 11, the company advances the interior reconfiguration of its planes and thus will also offer a greater number of seats per plane, all new, added to a sustained proposal of very affordable prices where with the program 'Fly to Your Measure' passengers will pay only for what they need.

Avianca continues to consolidate as the airline with the most routes and seats available that connects directly to Latin America, increasingly stronger and with a more affordable price offer so that everyone can fly in a network of 99 routes with more than 2.680 weekly flights and an offer of almost 400.000 chairs per week.

  1. Argentina has severe restrictions on international flights. One of the measures has been to suppress the entry of foreigners (except for some very specific cases), and has only allowed the entry of Argentines from abroad ( until recently alone 600 per day) and recently increased to just over a thousand. Many companies have reduced their frequencies and others are not directly operating flights to Argentina. It is also true that Avianca drastically reduced its frequencies to Buenos Aires, and continually reschedules their quotas, often operating only with the A-319 or A320 instead of the traditional A330 flight. Part of the disaster is from the Argentine government and part is also from Avianca. But it's not the only one, American Airlines is in a similar situation, rescheduling your quotas permanently, forcing passengers to change their flight dates.

Good morning, the interesting thing would be if you comply with the ones you already have, twice my suspended trip to Argentina, they argue and hide behind that it is an order of the Argentine government, I ask that they show me said order and they don't, It smells to me that they don't want to mobilize a plane with few passengers, the quota for the entry and exit of Argentina has it.

  3. Good Morning

Obviously these routes will open gradually and according to previous news the first would be Guayaquil – New York ?

  4. Very good news, only Buenos Aires is missing that there are no direct flights from Ecuador.
Hopefully after the Opening in Argentina
