The Panamanian airline Copa Airlines already operates to ten destinations in Colombia, after starting direct flights to Armenia and Cúcuta.

Copa Airlines, subsidiary of Copa Holdings, TO, NYSE: CPA, and member of the global alliance Star Alliance, inaugurated its new route between Ciudad de Panama and Armenian in Colombia, becoming the airline's first new destination since 2019.

The company celebrated its first inaugural flight with an event at the Tocumen airport.

“This new flight to Armenia allows us to continue improving the connectivity of the cities of the continent, strengthening the position of the Hub of the Americas® and contributing to the socioeconomic development of the region, through the tourism sector, explained Christophe Didier, vice president of sales of Copa Airlines.

Armenia was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011 and is recognized for its cultural and tourist wealth. It is located between Bogota, Medellin and Cali, with a population of approx. 300.000 population. Next to Pereira and Manizales, Armenia is part of the Colombian coffee axis, reason why its landscapes are made up of large farms, that offer the visitor a unique opportunity to take a unique route that reveals all the secrets of good Colombian coffee.

Copa Airlines flight CM330 to Armenia initially operates with three weekly flights, Tuesdays, thursday and sunday, leaving at 11:36 am from Panama and arriving at El Eden International Airport at 12:58 pm. The return flight will depart on the same days from Armenia at 15:58, arriving to Panama at 17:18. The route will be operated by a Boeing 737-700, with capacity for 12 passengers in Business Class and 112 passengers in the main cabin.

What's more, the company operates from 6 from December to 2021 to the city of Cúcuta also in Colombia, initially with three weekly flights, on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, leaving at 9:56 pm from Panama and arriving at Camilo Daza International Airport at 23:23. The return flight will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from Cúcuta at 4:34 am, arriving in Panama at 6:04 am. The route will be operated by a Boeing 737-800, with capacity for 16 passengers in Business Class and 144 passengers in the main cabin.

With these two new destinations, Copa Airlines will serve ten destinations within Colombian territory:
