The Panamanian airline Copa Airlines continues to advance in the recovery of its operation and flights to Ecuador.

Desde el «Hub of the Americas» Copa Airlines fly to more than 80 destinations throughout the Americas, two of these are in Ecuador, being one of its most important markets.

With flights of just over 2 hours, Copa Airlines has been operating for 28 years uninterruptedly to the airports of Guayaquil and Quito from the Tocumen International Airport in Central America.

Within the current context of airline industry recovery, the leading airline Panama continues to recover its wide network of destinations, either flying again or gradually increasing frequencies where Ecuador has not been left behind.

Driven primarily by connections from your Hub toward North America por los «vaccination trips«, Copa Airlines continues to increase its flights to Ecuador so that it is getting closer to its pre-pandemic weekly flight numbers.

Thus, since July 2021, the airline is operating as follows to Quito and Guayaquil:

  • Between Panama and Quito operating with 28 weekly flights or 4 Daily flights.
  • Between Panama and Guayaquil operating with 35 weekly flights or 5 Daily flights.

It should be remembered that in the airline's operating permit it maintains 35 weekly frequencies to both cities of Ecuador, so at the moment the operation in Guayaquil has recovered in a 100% and in Quito it remains pending, as demand develops, recover an additional daily flight until completing.

All these flights are operated by aircraft Boeing 737-800 with capacity for 160 passengers in two classes and airplanes Boeing 737 MAX with a capacity to 166 passengers in three classes.

To follow the demand in current recovery, Copa would close the year having recovered its entire operation in Ecuador, with the medium-term projection of incorporating new destinations in the country, such as the Manta Eloy Alfaro International Airport.

It is quite positive for Ecuador 🇪🇨 to recover its national and international traffic in order to reactivate the economy and tourism. I remember that Copa Airlines operated in Quito years ago the fifth daily frequency with the already retired Embraer 190 Colombian Cup, former AeroRepública and today there is the low cost Wingo. my question is nicholas, Do these frequencies belong purely to Copa Airlines or do they include its subsidiary Wingo?

    Greetings.
