Air Canada has confirmed an order with Airbus of six planes A321XLR, previously listed as undisclosed in the Airbus order book.
with this commitment, to the A321XLR fleet of Air Canada will understand 26 planes, included 20 Additional A321XLRs the airline is acquiring through lessors.

The A321XLR fits perfectly in the fleet of Air Canada, given his family-wide operating history A320, as well as the Airbus A330-300 long-range widebody aircraft and, more recently, the next-generation single-aisle aircraft from Airbus, the A220. The new Airbus A321XLR aircraft is an ideal replacement for older and less fuel efficient aircraft. The state-of-the-art single-aisle jet will allow Air Canada add new destinations in the most sustainable way.
About the A321XLR
The A321XLR is the next evolutionary step in the family of aircraft A320neo, meets market requirements for increased range and payload in a single-aisle aircraft and creates more value for airlines by enabling economically viable service on longer routes than any comparable aircraft model. It will allow services from the east of Canada to a much wider selection of European destinations.
This variant of the neo family, offers an unprecedented range of single-aisle aircraft up to 4.700 nm, with a fuel consumption per seat a 30% minor compared to previous generation aircraft, as well as a reduction in NOx emissions and noise. The aircraft will feature the Airbus Airspace cabin, offering a new level of comfort for passengers on long-haul flights.
At the end of February 2022, the A320neo Family had amassed nearly 7900 orders of more than 120 clients all over the world. Orders for the A321XLR amounted to 515 from 25 customers.
