Embraer launches passenger-to-freighter conversions with the Embraer E190F and E195F, formally entering the cargo market.
Embraer enters the air cargo market with the launch of passenger-to-cargo conversions (P2F) E190F y E195F. E-Jets freighters are designed to meet the changing demands of e-commerce and modern commerce that require fast delivery and decentralized operations.. Embraer offers the unmatched cargo economy and flexibility of right-size jets.
“Perfectly positioned to fill the gap in the cargo market between turboprops and larger narrow-body jets, our P2F E-Jet conversion hits the market as demand for air cargo continues to take off and e-commerce and commerce in general undergoes a global structural transformation. ”, Arjan Meijer said, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
Full loader conversion is available for all pre-owned E190 and E195 aircraft, and are expected to enter service in early 2024. Embraer see a market for this size aircraft of about 700 planes during 20 years.
This initiative arises when Embraer addresses three great opportunities:
- Current fuselages of small narrow-body freighters are old, inefficient, highly polluting and are within their removal window;
- The ongoing transformation of the intersection between trade, trade and logistics has led to unprecedented demand for air cargo across the board, and even more so for same-day delivery and decentralized operations; the perfect mission for freighters the size of an E-Jet;
- The first E-Jets to enter service around 10 a 15 years are now exiting long-term leases and beginning their replacement cycle, that will continue for the next decade. Full charge conversion will extend the life of more mature E-Jets by others 10 a 15 years and will encourage their replacement by more efficient aircraft, sustainable and silent.
Embraer's E-Jet P2F conversions will offer amazing performance and economy. The E-Jet Freighter will have more than one 50% more than volume capacity, three times the range of large-charge turboprops and up to a 30 % lower operating costs than narrowbody.
The conversion to a freighter will take place at Embraer's facilities in Brazil and includes:
- main deck forward cargo door; cargo management system; floor reinforcement; Rigid Cargo Barrier (RCB) – Barrera 9G con puerta de acceso; cargo smoke detection system, incluyendo extintores clase “E” en el compartimiento de carga superior; Air Management System Changes (refrigeration, pressurization, etc.); interior clearance and provisions for transporting hazardous materials. The E190F can handle a payload of 23.600 lb (10.700 kg), while the E195F a payload of 27.100 lb (12.300 kg).
With these planes that, for example, Azul already operates, Embraer enter markets where ATR they are very small and the Boeing 737 they are very big.
