Iberia and Qatar Airways they now have a codeshare agreement for flights between Madrid and Ecuador (Quito and Guayaquil).
Surely as a preview of the World Cup 2022 end of this year, both airlines have signed a codeshare to expand their commercial collaboration, now adding the connection and integration of both airlines towards Ecuador.

With the aim of offering a better transfer between airlines and that passengers between the different points can purchase a single ticket and travel, for example, from Quito to Doha, is that both airlines are implementing this codeshare agreement.
Agreement for flights between Madrid, Quito and Guayaquil
when implemented, an Ecuadorian traveler will be able to leave Guayaquil or Quito and in a single reservation reach Qatar alleviating connection times and worry about your bags.
Approved on 21 from December to 2021, the agreement defines Iberia as the operating airline by counting the route in its permit:
- Madrid-Quito-Madrid, seven (7) weekly frequencies,
- Madrid – Guayaquil – Madrid, seven (4) weekly frequencies,
While Qatar Airways you will be able to market these flights in your systems and connect them with your flights between Doha and Madrid.
Under the Commercial Cooperation Agreement and the operating agreements in shared code, Qatar Airways will put its code (QR) on flights operated by Iberia, between Quito and Madrid, on legally operated frequencies.
These flights will be marketed in addition to the flights between Madrid and Doha, for the sale of passenger air transport tickets between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Ecuador. Qatar Airways will not sell or transport fifth freedom passengers between Spain and Ecuador.

The flights of both airlines operate at the following times:
- QR147: Opera Diary. Departure from Doha 01.15 Arrival to Madrid 6.50
- QR149: Opera Diary. Departure from Doha 8.10 Arrival to Madrid 13.45
- QR150: Opera Diary. Departure from Madrid 16.10 Arrival in Doha 23.4
- QR148: Opera Diary. Departure from Madrid 8.15 Arrival in Doha 17.00.
- IB6453: Opera Monday, Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays. Departure from Madrid 12.05 Arrival in Quito 16.15
- IB6454: Opera Monday, Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays. Departure from Quito 18.05 Arrival to Madrid 11.25
- IB6461: Opera Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Departure from Madrid 13.05 Arrival in Guayaquil 18.00
- IB6460: Opera Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. Departure from Guayaquil 19.40 Arrival to Madrid 13.45
Creating a hypothetical case, Ecuadorians could travel leaving on flight IB6454 from the 18:05 hours, land at 11:25 hours and connect with flight QR150 of the 16:10 waiting for 6 hours and 40 minutes.
While for the return the connection would be leaving Doha on flight QR147 of the 01:15 who lands in Madrid at 06:50, connecting with flight IB6453 to Quito de las 11:50 with a wait of 5 hours.
In the case of Guayaquil, we could travel leaving on flight IB6460 from the 19:40 hours, land at 13:45 hours and connect with flight QR150 of the 16:10 waiting for 2 hours and 25 minutes.
While for the return the connection would be leaving Doha on flight QR147 of the 01:15 who lands in Madrid at 06:50, connecting with flight IB646 to Guayaquil from the 12:25 with a wait of 5 hours and 35 minutes.
