The group Air France-KLM has signed an agreement with Airbus for the acquisition of a total of 50 Airbus A350-900 and A350-1000 aircraft.
Additional, there is the option of 40 additional aircraft. The 50 aircraft have been ordered and will be assigned between KLM and Air France according to local market dynamics and regulatory conditions.
KLM will operate the A350
KLM plans to begin operating Airbus A350 on intercontinental flights from 2026, which will mean the replacement of its current Boeing 777-200ER, Airbus A330-200 y Airbus A330-300.

El Airbus A350, more sustainable and quieter
These new Airbus A350s represent an important milestone in building a cleaner, quieter fleet., by producing a 40% less noise and consume a 25% less fuel than similar aircraft from previous generations. The hull of this aircraft is composed, largely, made of reinforced and light materials (composites and titanium), ensuring longer distances can be covered with less fuel.
In combination with the use of sustainable aviation fuel (PURE) and other operational innovations and efficiency improvements, These new aircraft will significantly contribute to making operations cleaner, quiet and efficient in terms of fuel consumption.
For the year 2030, The group aims to integrate a 10% from sustainable aviation fuel (PURE) on flights departing from Paris and Amsterdam and aims to achieve net zero emissions by the year 2050.
