LATAM Airlines continues its path of recovery and growth, recording positive performance on all fronts during June 2024. The airline saw a significant increase in demand, capacity and passenger traffic, consolidating its position as a leader in Latin American aviation.
Positive June for LATAM
The LATAM group grew 15,9% in its consolidated capacity measured in available seat kilometers (ASK) in June, as a result of an increase in 25,2% in the international offer and a 9,4% in the domestic offer of the subsidiaries of Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Colombia. What's more, the domestic offer of the subsidiary in Brazil also showed good performance, with an increase of 5,7% despite the indefinite closure of the Porto Alegre airport due to the floods that occurred during May.
Regarding traffic measured in passenger-kilometers rented (RPK), In June there was an increase in 17,6%, which is explained by an increase in 25,5% in the demand of the international segment, of a 11,5% in the domestic demand of the subsidiaries of Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Colombia, and of a 8,6% in the domestic demand of the Brazilian subsidiary.
Given the above, The consolidated load factor during the month of June was 84,2%, which represents an increase of 1,2 percentage points compared to the same month of 2023. The solid performance of the load factor of the international segment stands out, reaching 85,4%.
On the other hand, The group transported more than 6,5 million passengers only in June of this year, a 10,3% more than the same month of 2023. Thus, During the second quarter the group mobilized 19,1 million passengers, a 11,7% more than the same quarter of the previous year.
in charge, group capacity LATAM, measured in tons- available kilometers (ATK), increased by a 17,2% in relation to June 2023, reaching the 670 millions of tons- available kilometers.
