With the launch of these new routes, Medellín and Antioquia recover their direct connectivity with Curacao, specifically with El Hato Airport, which serves the entire island. Similarly, the beginning of the route to Juan Santamaría, represents more offer to Costa Rica, but this time with low cost chairs.

With these two new routes, Wingo adds two international destinations to its route network from Medellín, from where it offers direct flights to Panama, Cancún, Aruba, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Caracas, Bogota, Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta.

The Medellín – Curacao route will have two flights a week: Wednesday and Saturday. Total, The airline will make available to travelers about 3,000 chairs per month at a low cost between both trips, thus promoting more tourism and trade between both territories. It is important to note that this route is focused on the high holiday season., with operation in the months of December, January, June, July and August.

On the other hand, The Medellín – San José route will have three flights a week: Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Total, The airline will make available to travelers about 4,500 chairs per month at low cost between both cities. This new connection represents an opportunity for more Costa Rican tourists to fly to Medellín, being one of the fastest growing nationalities in visitors to the capital of Antioquia.

“Medellín is the city where Wingo has grown the most in recent years. Only in 2024 we have launched four routes from the José María Córdova International Airport, which reflects the importance of the city within our route network. We are pleased to inaugurate these two new direct destinations due to their flow dynamics in both directions.. Both San José and Curacao are ideal destinations for the Paisa public to go on vacation., but they are also destinations with which we hope to contribute to the city's tourism strategy., "Well, Costa Ricans and Curazaleños are part of the nationalities with the highest growth in the flow of visitors to Medellín", said Jorge Jimenez, Wingo Commercial and Planning VP.

“We have just inaugurated these two direct routes of the Wingo airline to Curacao and Costa Rica from our MDE Airport, to end the year 2024 with 25 routes that allow Antioqueños and Colombians to travel non-stop to wonderful destinations like these. Congratulations to Wingo for believing in the region!, for boosting our growth and making it possible for more foreigners to come to the country and offer alternatives and opportunities to thousands of passengers,” said Javier Andrés Benítez Ríos., airport manager.

The tickets for these new routes Wingo can be purchased through Wingo.com, on introductory promotional rates starting in USD 109 per way to Curacao and in USD 114 for San José de Costa Rica.
