Starting in May 2019 Aeromexico will land in Guayaquil as its second regular destination in Ecuador after Quito.

The initial itinerary proposed by the airline is as follows:
- Flight AM754 will take off from Mexico at 01:00 am local time will land at José Joaquín de Olmedo at 05:45 am behind 4 hours and 45 direct flight minutes.
- The return flight AM755 will take off from Guayaquil 08:40 am and will land back in Benito Juárez at 13:30 pm with a duration of 4 hours and 50 minutes.
It should be noted, that at the time of this publication the airline has not yet initiated the process before the Ecuadorian aeronautical authority nor has it made an official announcement, but from direct sources with the airline this route could be confirmed and the start of ticket sales for this new route is expected in the coming weeks., so changes to the start date could be made, but the destination was confirmed by the airline's own General Manager.
Too, Guayaquil recovers direct flights to Mexico, once the defunct Mexicana de Aviación will operate the Mexico route – Quito – Guayaquil – Mexico with Airbus A318 aircraft.
