The airline Aeromexico will operate up to one daily flight to Guayaquil once it has started the process of modifying its operating permit.

There are only days left for the start of flights between Mexico and Guayaquil directly, the main Mexican airline carried out the process so that in its schedule of routes that it operates in Ecuador and where Quito was the first destination in the country, include the path to Jose Joaquin de Olmedo with a maximum of frequencies as detailed below:

The airline was authorized to operate up to seven weekly frequencies between Mexico City and Guayaquil with traffic rights of third and fourth air freedoms, route that can be operated with Boeing aircraft 737 in the versions -700, -800 and MAX as available airline equipment within its fleet.

This route was planned to initially operate with three weekly frequencies that will operate on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday, being the inaugural flight this Wednesday 1 May at the following times:

• Flight number AM754 will take off from Mexico City at 01:00 am local time and will land in Guayaquil at 05:45 am with a duration of 4 hours and 45 minutes.
• For the return flight number will be AM755 that will take off from Guayaquil at 08:40 am and will land back in Mexico at 13:30 pm after a flight from 4 hours and 50 minutes.

This route of Aeromexico anticipates the clear intention of Interjet to operate also between Mexico and Guayaquil, plus the new projected route between Cancun and Guayaquil (it would be the first regular commercial route from Cancun to Ecuador), which is expected to confirm hours and frequencies of operation in the coming weeks by Interjet, that will enter to compete with one already positioned in the Ecuadorian market, Aeromexico.
