Selling more than 1 million chairs until 2022, Wingo expands its flights and capacity to their international destinations.
After consolidating as the airline low cost bigger than Colombia in terms of the number of international routes served from the country, Wingo announced the expansion of its capacity and puts more than one million new seats on the market to fly until March 2022.
“Thanks to the positive response we have received from travelers, in this recovery phase, we are currently operating 27% more flights compared to those we made before the pandemic and offering 166% more chairs compared to the capacity we had in the market. All with a load factor that exceeds the 85% throughout our network of destinations" pointed out Carolina Cortizo, Wingo Managing Director.
Since the restart of Wingo operations, the airline has launched 8 new routes, both domestic and international.
This increase in the number of chairs for sale, will allow Wingo strengthen its presence in some strategic markets, across the continent, with the addition of new flights on the routes that the airline already operates.
In this way, from October, Wingo will increase its flights to the island of Saint Andrew from Bogota, Barranquilla and Cartagena. On the Cali-Cartagena route, the airline will also add a new weekly flight, thus arriving at 3 frequencies.
Regarding your operation towards Panama, Wingo will increase its flights from Bogotá, Cali, Cartagena and Medellin, arriving to 20 weekly flights to the Central American country.
What's more, from Bogota, the airline will also add more flights to Quito (until 5 weekly flights), Guayaquil (until 4 weekly flights), Saint Joseph (until 4 weekly flights), Caracas, Havana (until 5 weekly flights), Punta Cana (until 5 weekly flights), Cancún (until 7 weekly flights) and Santo Domingo (until 5 weekly flights); and from Medellin, Wingo also announces the increase in its operation on the routes to Cancun and Punta Cana.
This significant growth in the supply of Wingo comes after the airline replaced all of its Boeing aircraft 737-700 by model 737-800, a larger aircraft that allows you to offer more seats per flight; plus, after the release of 8 new national and international routes that are already operating today.
