As an update to what was presented months ago, Embraer revealed new concepts of his asustainable planes from the future.
Embraer revealed new aircraft concepts as part of the company's progress report on Energy, the Brazilian manufacturer's initiative to bring the aviation industry to net zero for 2050.
One year after the Sustainability in Action event of Embraer, which detailed the study of four new aircraft concepts powered by new technologies and renewable energy, the company has focused on two designs of 19-30 seats for hybrid electric and hydrogen electric propulsion. Guided by the technical expertise of 50 company years, external input from airlines and joint studies with engine OEMs, these two approaches to net zero offer a technically realistic and economically feasible path to net zero.
Energy Hybrid (E19-HE y E30-HE): revealed as nine squares in 2021, Embraer is exploring a variant of 19 and 30 plazas:
- parallel hybrid-electric propulsion
- up to a 90 % reduction of CO2 emissions when using SAF
- variants of 19 and 30 seating
- rear mounted engines
- technological readiness: beginnings of 2030
Fuel cell Energia H2 (E19-H2FC y E30-H2FC): presented as 19 squares in 2021, Embraer is exploring a variant of 30 plazas:
- hydrogen electric propulsion
- zero CO2 emissions
- variants of 19 and 30 seating
- rear mounted electric motors
- technological preparation – 2035
Although it is still in the evaluation phase, architectures and technologies are being evaluated to determine their technical and commercial feasibility. The Energy Advisory Group has also been launched to harness the input and collaboration of partner airlines.

These efforts have resulted in the updates to our concepts that we share with you today.. Several airlines are part of our Energy Advisory Group, The experience and knowledge they bring to the study will be key to accelerating to the next phases”.
