The airline Avianca Ecuador will have two weekly flights between Manta and Galapagos operating at Isla Baltra.
After several months of waiting, the government of Galapagos announced that it authorized the airline Avianca Ecuador to increase two weekly frequencies towards Galapagos to your operating permit.
Let us remember at this point that, the frequencies to Galapagos are limited due to conservation of the archipelago, so that since they are all occupied by LATAM Ecuador, Equair and her own Avianca Ecuador, these two weekly frequencies are additional and it is an important fact that more frequencies are authorized again.
Avianca will fly between Manta and Galapagos
Specifically and subject to any change that could affect the operation, such as the distribution of combustible at Manta Airport, Avianca Ecuador will fly to Baltra with two weekly frequencies initially.
The operation from the next 2 July will be as follows:
Frequencies
The two weekly frequencies will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Schedules
The flights will operate at the following times:
- Flight 2K1628 takes off at 07:21 from Quito and lands in Manta at 08:11.
- Flight takes off at 08:56 from Manta and will land in Baltra at 09:45.
- Flight 2K1629 takes off at 10:30 a.m. from Baltra and lands back in Manta at 1:17 p.m..
- Finally, the flight will take off at 2:02 p.m. from Manta to return to Quito at 2:50 p.m..
At the time of this publication, the flights are already on sale on the airline's website as well as GDS worldwide with promotional prices from USD 34 per trip to buy between 6 and the 13 of June, to fly from the 2 July 2023 until February 2024.
These flights will be operated by aircraft Airbus A320neo (like the one in the photo, what would you even think will be the plane of the maiden flight) with capacity for 180 passengers in one class, although classic A320s will also be assigned to the route.
It should be noted, that the operation towards Galapagos (Baltra and San Cristobal) via Guayaquil from Quito with 30 weekly frequencies will not be affected or reduced, as well as the flights take off blanket they will be maintained with the same frequencies that currently operate, but with a change in the schedule on the days of operations to Baltra.
History
This will not be the first time that Manta and the Galapagos are connected with direct flights, For this reason, it is opportune to remember that years ago the airline Saereo operated with up to three weekly frequencies (as i remember), but with the difference that it was going to Isabela Island in planes Beechcraft 1900D with capacity for 19 passengers.

How wonderful, great connectivity is approaching manta lately it would be nice if the inaugural flight is the return of the iguana livery to the galapagos, Great post and one question. Why does the Baltra journey take longer? – blanket than baltra blanket? I found it curious
Let's hope so and that plane inaugurates the route, it would be excellent. The difference in time is in the direction of the wind.
Why is the entry of the service of the A320neo of Avianca Ecuador delayed?? They continue to extend the flight start date that was initially in 1, then he 9, and now the 13 of June.
It seems to me that it is a matter of permits by the United States, I hope it will be soon.
