came a 27 June 2023, historic day for Ecuadorian aviation in which the first direct flight of Copa Airlines Come in City of Panama and Manta.

After several years of rumors, expectations and announcements, the long-awaited direct international route to the General Eloy Alfaro de Manta International Airport, destiny: Panama.

Copa Airlines started flights to Manta

Copa Airlines inaugurated its new destination, Manta, in Ecuador, becoming the only airline to operate internationally from and to this city. With the addition of Manta and its 3 weekly frequencies, the airline will be present at 3 destinations within Ecuadorian territory, with 28 weekly frequencies to Quito and 35 weekly frequencies to Guayaquil (being able to go up to 80 weekly frequencies). Thus, is consolidated as the best option to connect the primary and secondary regions of the country with the rest of the continent.

The flight has three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, friday and sunday, with scheduled departure at 15:12 from Panama (local time) and arrival at the Eloy Alfaro de Manta International Airport at 17:27 (local time). The return flight to Manta is scheduled at 18:18 in the same days, arriving in Panama at 20:30 (local time). The route is operated by aircraft Boeing 737-700 and offers a capacity of 12 passengers in Business Class and 112 passengers in Economic.

The opening of this destination consolidates the airline as the one that best connects Manabí with international destinations, since the inhabitants of this province do not have to travel to other main cities such as Quito or Guayaquil, to connect with America and the Caribbean, allowing them to save time on arrival at their destination with fast connections, easy and comfortable, from 50 average minutes, a través del Hub de las Américas® en Panama with checked baggage directly to your final destination, without going through customs or immigration during the connection.

With this new route, travelers to and from Manta will be able to connect mainly to New York, Miami and Orlando in the United States, Bogota in Colombia and Mexico City, among others. With the implementation of the Manta route – Panama City and its connections, the airline plans to carry approximately 18.000 passengers during the first year of operation.

It should be noted, that the first flights had a sales restriction due to the uncertainty of fuel supply, problem that was solved in the past 26 of June, so the arrival from Panama featured 100 passengers and return from Manta with 78 maiden travelers.
