The Ecuadorian Air Force – FAE incorporated a new aircraft into its fleet, the Hercules C-130H It is now part of the institution after donation of the USA.

The long-awaited incorporation of a Hercules C-130 to Ecuadorian Air Force announced months ago and long expected with the aim of strengthening the Transport Wing 11 of the FAE.

In this way and once the L-100 FAE-893, Ecuador will once again have two operational aircraft specialized in cargo and troop transport, an important step for the recovery of the capabilities of the FAE.

We start with an Aero Report where I show you inside and out the new addition of the FAE:

FAE will incorporate a Hercules C-130

The famous Hercules continues to be the spearhead for many air forces around the world, both for its unique loading capabilities, as well as for its versatility and ability to operate for many years in a safe and reliable manner.. Thus, Its importance for our country in the face of border problems or natural disasters has been demonstrated for years..

Our geography is not easy at all, but Hercules has managed to perform effectively to meet all the needs of the state in various situations, but in recent times the reaction capacity of rapid cargo transportation in the face of the internal armed conflict that the country is experiencing, has been weakened.

The needs and missions are many, For this reason, it was imperative to recover the operational capacity of the N Transport Wing.. 11 with his Hercules L-100 FAE893 (the last in operational capacity that the FAE had) and this has been achieved with the arrival of the new C-130H, which, in addition to being ready to operate for a few 7 More years, has brought the necessary engines to reactivate FAE893, so Ecuador will have two Hercules crossing its skies in the coming days.

Getting into the matter of the new incorporation, The FAE898 has a long history serving the USA from 1976 with serial number 4681 and registration 74-689, serving in the USAF until september 2014 where he is sent to operate for the Afghan Air Force, but due to the internal conflict with the Taliban, The plane was recovered in 2021 and remained in storage ever since.

Now, as a donation of more than $12 millions of dollars from the USA, The C-130H has been formally delivered to the Ecuador. Our country covered the training costs, maintenance and transfer flight of more than 10.400 kilometers from the specialized MRO in Portugal, where major maintenance was carried out before being delivered.

Thanks for your reports. Please know something about the reactivation of the 2 House C295M inoperative of the FAE? And of the two additional ones that would be acquired for the Navy and the Army?

    1. Hello Santiago, yes of course. The other two Casa 295M are online for maintenance, of course it is, depends on the budget, but they will be reactivated. There is no news yet about those new to the Army and Navy.
