The airline Avianca began the process to increase frequencies and new routes to its operating permits to and from Ecuador.
New routes are being planned that start in Ecuador and that they take travelers mainly, toward Argentina, that thanks to the signed agreement of Open skies with this country, makes it possible for the subsidiary Avianca Ecuador I can operate them, just as it currently does via Bogotá towards Panama and Aruba (Before, they also did it towards La Paz, for example.).
Avianca seeks more frequencies and routes from Ecuador
Within a negative year in general for the country's international connectivity, Avianca has been one of the few airlines that have opted to increase, within what the market gives, its operations flying further New York, new route to Punta Cana from Quito and from Guayaquil to Medellín and Cartagena.
Everything indicates that there is room to grow and the departure of some airlines gives room for this.. Today I share with you two specific orders that both Avianca Ecuador and Avianca Colombia made..
We start with Avianca Ecuador, which requested the following modifications to its regular international operation permit:
- Increase 7 additional frequencies on the QUITO and/or GUAYAQUIL – NEW YORK route and vice versa, leaving the total at 21 weekly frequencies with 3rd and 4th freedom rights.
- The Quito and/or Guayaquil route is added – Bogotá and/or Buenos Aires (EZE y/o AEP) with up 7 weekly frequencies with 3rd party rights, 45th and 5th freedoms.
- The Quito and/or Guayaquil route is added – Medellín and/or Buenos Aires (EZE y/o AEP) with up 7 weekly frequencies with 3rd party rights, 45th and 5th freedoms.
- The Quito and/or Guayaquil route is added – Bogotá and/or Córdoba with up to 7 weekly frequencies with 3rd party rights, 45th and 5th freedoms.
- The Quito and/or Guayaquil route is added – Bogotá and/or Mendoza with up to 7 weekly frequencies with 3rd party rights, 45th and 5th freedoms.
- The Quito and/or Guayaquil route is added – Bogotá and/or Rosario with up to 7 weekly frequencies with 3rd party rights, 45th and 5th freedoms.
As we can see, among the highlights is the increase in frequencies to fly at New York from Quito or Guayaquil, as well as the possibility of flying further afield Buenos Aires and increase destinations to Córdoba, Mendoza and Rosario, This last one is very interesting..
On the other hand, Avianca requested that these frequencies be increased to its regular international operations permit:
- The modification consists of increasing 7 additional frequencies on the BOG-UIO-BOG route which will be formed as follows: BOGOTÁ – QUITO – BOGOTÁ, up to twenty one (21) weekly frequencies
With this we could understand that some of the frequencies between Quito and Bogota that operates the Ecuadorian subsidiary would become Colombia while it carries out the new routes via Bogotá or Medellín.
For now, This is what is known and I will be attentive to inform you about the progress of these orders and the start of the flights.
