We will review the current fleet 2019 of Ecuadorian airlines Avianca Ecuador, Tame EP, LATAM Ecuador, Aeroregional and Airplanes.
The Ecuadorian aviation goes through one of the best historical yearss, With growth both internationally and little by little also domestically, important growth indicators are beginning to be seen.
within this framework, It is time to update how many aircraft and models each of the currently has for now, five Ecuadorian airlines, of which 3 are domestic regulars and 2 they are chartered (Aeroregional is in the last two stages of certification to operate regular flights).
*Ordered from highest to lowest number of aircraft in the fleet.
Avianca Ecuador
Currently, Avianca Ecuador It has the largest fleet of the 5 operating airlines in the country and is made up of 10 operational aircraft:
Fleet
- Airbus A319 HC-CKN
- Airbus A319 HC-CLF
- Airbus A319 HC-CSA
- Airbus A319 HC-CSB
- Airbus A320 HC-CJV
- Airbus A320 HC-CJW
- Airbus A320 HC-CRU
- Airbus A320 HC-CSF
- Airbus A320 HC-CTR
- Airbus A320 HC-CTX
Growth
could be found at the end of the 2018 that the airline had contemplated adding an eleventh aircraft to its fleet to increase domestic frequencies, but this project is suspended due to aircraft requirements from its Colombian subsidiary.
Equally, there is a close possibility of incorporating model aircraft Airbus A321 higher capacity.
Operation type
Regular domestic and international / domestic and international charter.
Tame EP
The Ecuadorian state Tame EP, that it came to have in its fleet at the time of greatest international growth, a total of 17 aircraft, between 2018 and 2019 has withdrawn several of the aircraft due to its reduction in operations and closure of domestic and international routes. Even, in mid-March the airline returned one more Airbus A320 to its owner, the HC-COE.
The fleet is currently made up of 7 aircraft:
- ATR42-500 HC-CLT
- ATR42-500 HC-CMB
- ATR 42-500 HC-CMH
- Embraer 190 HC-CGG
- Embraer 190 HC-CGF
- Airbus A319 HC-CGT
- Airbus A320 HC-CPB
Growth
For this year it was possible to know that Tame EP intends to launch a new fleet plan for the unification of the same, where Embraer aircraft would potentially be sold 190 HC-CGG and HC-CGF that are their own and return the HC-COY. In replacement of them, more aircraft of the ATR and Airbus models would arrive. 319.
Operation type
Regular domestic and international / domestic and international charter.
LATAM Ecuador
As for fleet, LATAM Ecuador take advantage of operating aircraft with Ecuadorian and foreign registration, so currently its fleet is made up of 8 aircraft as follows:
- Airbus A319 HC-CPJ
- Airbus A319 HC-CPR
- Airbus A319 HC-CPY
- Airbus A319 HC-CPZ
- Airbus A319 (CC license plate- of rotation)
- Airbus A319 (CC license plate- of rotation)
- Boeing 767 (CC license plate- of rotation)
- Boeing 767 (CC license plate- of rotation)
Growth
Potentially, the airline could increase its fleet of Airbus A319, subject to domestic growth and approval of additional routes, but as was reported, only Coca and relocation of frequencies to San Cristóbal were authorized, while Manta does not, so the growth in terms of fleet was slowed down.
Operation type
Regular domestic and international / domestic and international charter.
Aeroregional
The airline Aeroregional recently incorporated its second Boeing model aircraft 737-500 and it is close to completing the certification process as a regular domestic operator in the country. Your fleet is next:
- Boeing 737-500 HC-CTF
- Boeing 737-500 HC-CUH
Growth
With an operation focused mainly on domestic and international charter flights, the airline has projections for growth in its fleet, that along with the upcoming domestic operation, will allow the airline to incorporate new aircraft, where it was possible to learn that a CRJ model aircraft would be under analysis 200.
Operation type
Domestic and international charter / domestic regular operations.
Airplanes
The Ecuadorian charter airline is also close to incorporating its second Dash model aircraft 8 to strengthen its domestic charter operation in the country. The fleet of Airplanes is made up as follows:
- Dash 8-200 HC-CSY
- Dash 8-200 HC-CTY
Growth
The airline maintains an operation, for now, domestic charter only, but it is in the process of obtaining permission from international charter operation, which will allow you to grow in your client portfolio and also, think about continuing to increase its fleet of two aircraft.
Potentially and thanks to having very suitable equipment for the operation in Ecuador, The airline could have close plans to start the certification process as a regular domestic operator.
Operation type
domestic charter.

I understand that airlines try to standardize their fleets to save on maintenance and operations due to their fuel consumption.. Nevertheless, There are small airports in Ecuador which means that there are fewer passengers but smaller aircraft are still needed to meet the demand. Hopefully Aeroregional or Avioandes can cover the service of airports like Tulcán, in Zamora, Latacunga, Ambato with aircraft up to 20 O 30 passengers since TAME, Avianca and LATAM cannot land there with their families of Airbus A320s, ATR o Embraer. Smaller planes are needed.
I agree, regional aviation has a lot of potential with airplanes of 20 a 30 passengers, can be very profitable.
In the future LATAM Ecuador will fly to Lago and Coca friend?
Coke is in the plans, Lago Agrio not for now.
excellent report
The irregularity is that permanent operation is allowed on routes of the operating permit only to Latham with foreign license plates CC-
Now the law allows operating leased aircraft with Ecuadorian registration since before they only allowed it as a purchase which was an impediment to growth that now thank God it is not mandatory however latan has 5 aircraft with license plate CC / inventing exchange figures
It is not only to LATAM, It's everyone I want to use and do, But for now, only LATAM has made use of this extended benefit for all. This is something common and that is applied every day in more countries, examples are Peru and Colombia, where its aviation does not stop growing. Additional, There has never been an impediment to operating aircraft in Ecuador that are not our own, Never.
From 2012 To the date, It is seen that Tame has reduced its aircraft fleet by half, unlike LATAM and Avianca, which have grown steadily.
slow growth, but sustained and analyzed.
